Mario is the new caretaker of an old building with a few peculiar residents. He discovers a small green door in the garage. Behind it lives a family of gnomes who are trapped underground and being pursued by a goblin. Mario does everything he can to free them. With the help of Sebastian, a 10-year-old boy, they manage to decipher messages and enable the gnome family to return to their home.
